While the United States is investigating the special protection case of Chinese tires imported to the United States, the European Union is also wielding the stick of anti-dumping measures against Chinese aluminum wheels.
On August 3rd, the European Trade Commission officially notified China that it will conduct an anti-dumping investigation on Chinese exports of aluminum wheels to the European Union no later than August 15th. If the investigation concludes that anti-dumping measures are in place, the EU will impose a maximum tariff of 33% on aluminum wheels exported from China to the EU for five consecutive years.
Li Xiaoqing, Secretary General of the Wheel Committee of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that if the EU rules on the dumping of Chinese aluminum wheels, it will have a catastrophic impact on China's aluminum wheel exports.
If China loses the anti-dumping lawsuit, it is likely to completely withdraw from the EU market and it will be difficult to enter in the future. Other major export markets such as North America and Japan are also likely to follow the EU's approach, "said Li Xiaoqing with a serious expression.
The situation is critical, and the aluminum wheel hub companies involved are currently actively preparing to respond to the lawsuit. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers held a high-profile press conference on August 12th, clearly expressing its dissatisfaction with the EU's approach.
